Rhonda G. Phillippi, RN, BA

Rhonda began working for TN EMSC as the original project coordinator for Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in 1995. As the role of TN EMSC expanded to include the entire state instead of only three regions, she assumed the role of State Coordinator for TN EMSC in 1999. In 2005, TN Emergency Medical Services for Children Foundation, a tax exempt non-profit was established to meet funding and advocacy needs.

Rhonda served on the American Heart Association (National), Subcommittee on Pediatric Resuscitation and co-authored Student Textbook Pediatric Advanced Life Support: Coping with Death, Dallas, 2001.

Ms. Phillippi has a strong interest in preventing injuries to children and was the primary supplicant for the comprehensive revision to the child passenger laws in Tennessee which passed in the spring of 2003. She worked with Veronica Gunn, MD two published studies: Improvement in booster seat use in Tennessee and the Differences in Appropriate Child Safety Restraint Use Among Black and White Children in Tennessee.

Ms. Phillippi has received numerous awards for her leadership, most recently a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of outstanding service in the best interests and in the highest traditions of the State of Tennessee by Governor Phil Bredesen.

Rhonda received her Diploma in Nursing from Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing, Mansfield, Ohio and a BA in Management and Human Relations from Trevecca University, Nashville, TN. In addition, Ms. Phillippi has her Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the Center for Nonprofit Management, Nashville, TN.





Kristi Rush, BBA

Kristi Rush began working for Tennessee Emergency Medical Services for Children Foundation in 2005. She works with the Executive Director to coordinate all programs for the Foundation including quarterly meetings, fundraisers, the annual Update in Acute & Emergency Pediatrics Care Conference, and the annual Star of Life awards dinner and presentation. Kristi coordinates with committee chairs to schedule conference calls for their committees between quarterly meetings. Kristi also coordinates marketing and communication, website maintenance, membership, donations, and financial administration for the Foundation.

Kristi received her Bachelors of Business Administration with a major in Marketing from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
